He was a pioneer in the development of commercial radio production in the UK.
He owned very successful recording studios here in Australia servicing radio stations and advertising agencies.

Watch and listen to the wisdom of one the worlds finest audio engineers.
Prior to establishing Rowland Media Productions, John had a long and diverse career in media. From running his own recording studios and production companies in London, then in Melbourne over a period of 25 years, John went on to become CEO of Comic Relief Australia, the Australian branch of the iconic British-based charity.
John was then appointed CEO of Albert Street Productions; in that role he was responsible for a number of landmark projects documenting the work of many charitable and educational organisations (including Edmund Rice Education Australia, Mary MacKillop’s Sisters of St Joseph, Newman College at Melbourne University). He also undertook a range of corporate productions, training & safety films, TV commercials and other projects.
His many skills were brought to bear in servicing the requirements of the advertising and marketing industries, broadcast television and post-production.
He took a specialist role at the 2008 Beijing Olympics ensuring consistency and quality control of audio output from 82 separate venues. (This was the first time the Olympics had been transmitted with digital 5.1 surround sound.)
During his years in the UK John also taught at London’s renowned Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA). He brings a life-long commitment of quality production and storytelling.
